Download Jigsaw
Jigsaw should run on any platform supporting Java,
version 5.0 or later.
- Jigsaw requires Sun's JDK (Java Development Kit), version 5.0 or later.
If you do not already have it on your computer, Java is available from
java.sun.com.
- Download Jigsaw's JAR file from
Jigsaw's
SourceForge.net page.
To execute the program:
With the generic .jar file:
On Windows and MacOS systems, you will likely be able to start Jigsaw
by simply double-clicking the JAR file. If that doesn't work, or
you use a Unix-based systems, you can type
``java -jar jigsaw-XX.jar'' at the command
line.
With the MacOS X version:
Once the downloaded .tar.gz version is uncompressed
(this will likely happen automatically), just
double-click the Jigsaw icon to start.
With the Windows version:
Simply double-click the downloaded .exe file.
Jigsaw will likely work immediately. However, if it has
problems with compiling and executing programs, you may need to
enter its Preferences window, select the Java tab,
and configure Compiler Location so that it references
the javac.exe file from the JDK you installed in
Step 1 above. Similarly, you may need to configure
JVM Location to reference either
javaw.exe (preferred) or java.exe.
If you find Jigsaw useful, please send a
comment!
